Our first child’s first school supply list. Olivia is thrilled about starting school. She has already packed her supplies into her backpack. I pointed out that from the supplies it looked like she would be doing a lot of art projects and especially a lot of gluing. -Yes, she said, and learning to write words, Mama. Lots of words!
She is a little concerned about writing words.
- Can we practice mama?
-Of course.
- I will use this extra notebook you bought for practice.
-Ok.
And so she told me the words she wanted to spell. We sounded them out so she could figure out the letters and then she wrote the letters and spelled out the words.

and then she wanted to spell HOT. But she just could not figure out the H. So Daddy rescued her and took her to get a new fish.
This will be fish number 4. Number two, Sunshine, lasted the longest. (Just over a month.). Number three, OliviaMolivia, died within two days. So at the suggestion of Aunt Rebecca we are getting a betta fish this time. Hopefully this fish will get a good sturdy name and last at least until Christmas.

Wow! We took all those supplies for the first time when we started our senior year in high school! She sure seems eager. Nothing beats an eager learner. Ask any teacher.
Now about that fish or those fishes. We all like a "betta" fish than those that died before! Wouldn't you?
