On Christmas Eve day we went to the mall by our house to pick up some socks for Jack's stocking. We had a $10.00 coupon that expired on Dec 24th and we kept forgetting to buy Jack's socks. While there, Olivia got up the nerve to talk to Santa and ask him for a princess castle from Target. Of course this was not a planned visit to see Santa so we did not have a camera with to take a pic and there was no way we were paying $20.00 bucks to get "Santa's helpers" picture. Not only are we too cheap for that but Olivia had dressed herself that morning and was wearing pink pants with green socks. And she had also brushed her own hair. I could care less about what the other people in the mall thought about the way she was dressed but I also did not need a memento to remember how she was dressed.
After we got home from the mall we had RS and her family over for pizza and chips. It was a short visit but it was comforting to visit with someone as close as family on Christmas Eve day.
After they left we made cookies for Santa - photos below. Jack was most interested in pressing the cookie cutter into the dough and could have cared less if the cookies overlapped once or twice or three times. So we quickly got a pic of him cutting a cookie and then whisked him out of the kitchen so we could actually make some cookies.
Olivia is actually very good now at making the cookies and next year she probably won't even need me to help... very sad. I shall force my way in even if she doesn't need me.
Then we were off to church for a very nice Christmas eve service which included a reference to A Christmas Carol which was cool because our current favorite Christmas dvd is the Muppet Christmas Carol. So Olivia got the reference.
Then it was home and to bed so Santa could visit.
