Jack has climbed out of the crib again. Well actually it was last week. We had been putting him to bed with footed pj's and this was working fine. We knew he could take them off but it seemed like he had forgotten he could do this and for a while all was well. Then he remembered he could take off the pjs. So he unzipped and was out. Of course this happened while the inlaws were visiting and it kept us all up all night as he took off the pjs, climbed out, we redressed him, put him back in, he would be silent for a few minutes and then he was up again. (I think the first night it was actually the socks he learned to take off, then we did the footed pjs and he took those off so it was two sleepless nights. ) We tried various things, like duct taping the socks on, then safety pinning the zipper to the pjs. All these things worked but he would just figure out new ways to get out. Finally Eric figured out that he was using the dresser to pull himself up out of the crib and then he would drop to the floor. So we moved the dresser. Basically it is sitting in the middle of the room. So far he has not figured out a new way to escape. I am sure it will only be days though and he will be out again.!

Oh My Word!!! The kid is incredible. Incredible!!! And he is very naughty, yes? And smart. But he is so cute. And it is the cuteness that saves his very life. At least, that's the way it is with all of mine. -rs

Agile, incredible, brilliant, naughty. Yes that is Jack. And for the record he is out again. He kind of reminds me of Where's Wallace which is a kid's book where a monkey named Wallace keeps escaping from his cage. The only difference is the zoo keeper kind of encourages Wallace to get out and see the world and will leave the cage unlocked. We do just the opposite with Jack. ]
However the last two nights he has stayed in the bed after being put back in only a few times and he slept through the night which is the real blessing because being awakened at 2:00 AM by your very alert 20 month old night after night just isn't fun.
